Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Treasurer Fenton Soliz Presents Winner with $20K Prize
The Welcome Center is already making dreams come true! Just one day after opening a new section, Wareham resident Kathleen hit a $20,000 jackpot on Saturday, March 8, marking the biggest win since the opening in January.
Kathleen, who was playing on one of the Welcome Center’s newly added slot machines, was presented with her winnings by Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Treasurer Fenton Soliz. The expansion, which opened on March 7, introduced additional gaming options and set the stage for what is quickly becoming the region’s top destination for excitement and big wins.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our expansion,” said Brian Weeden, Chairman of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. “Seeing one of our guests take home a life-changing prize so soon after opening is just the beginning, and we’re thrilled to offer an experience where moments like this can happen every day.”

The Welcome Center is now open at 1 O’Connell Way, East Taunton, serving as an exciting first step toward the First Light Casino project. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, laying the foundation for future economic growth and entertainment in the greater Taunton community.
Featuring 40 state-of-the-art slot machines, the Welcome Center offers guests a preview of what will become the region’s premier casino destination and a key economic driver for the area.
The excitement continued March 7, 2025, with the completion of a major expansion to the Welcome Center, adding even more gaming options and enhancing the overall guest experience. But this is just the beginning—when First Light Casino’s full Class III casino opens, it will redefine entertainment in Southeastern Massachusetts with a world-class gaming floor, high-energy table games, top-tier dining, and live entertainment.
